Why I work with Women in Health and Healing Professions

Jamie White: Therapist and Yoga Teacher

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been working with women and adolescent girls for about 1 years. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and am also a Registered Yoga Teacher. I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy, mind/body integration and EMDR to not just relieve symptoms of anxiety but also to help empower clients to identify and understand the root cause of what is going on. A typical session may include therapeutic conversation, breath work and mindfulness exercises,

walking, EMDR processing, or practicing other

pertinent skills.

Jamie White: wife, mama, daughter, sister, auntie, friend, student of life

I am a Colorado native and love living in Denver. I come from a long line of worry-ers and anxiety seems to run in my blood…. so I am no stranger to the path of trying to figure out how to calm my mind and body. I enjoy yoga, biking, walking/hiking, cooking, reading, and hanging out with my friends and family. Nature and people inspire me. My husband and I love to travel as well, and try to get out of town on a regular basis to explore what else the world has to offer outside of our beautiful little corner of earth.

The counseling relationship

Research shows that a good working relationship between therapist and client is one of the major factors leading to a successful therapy outcome. For this reason, I make it a priority to connect with you, the client, and provide a non-judgmental, comfortable space for you to process and heal. Many of my clients (and friends and family!) say they feel at ease with me after a short time of knowing me, and that I tend to have a calming effect on them.
